The SNIPES Pay It Forward initiative is a nationwide campaign to support historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). This initiative is part of SNIPES’ commitment to giving back to the community and investing in the future of HBCUs and their graduates. SNIPES aims to provide opportunities for underrepresented communities and empower the next generation of leaders by supporting education and creating a platform for important conversations. This Homecoming season, SNIPES selected three HBCUs to partner with for the Pay It Forward initiative and provide five scholarships to students at each school. The selected HBCUs included Florida A&M University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Morgan State University.
The Kicks & Black Fits Activation hosted by the Morgan State University Campus Activities Board (C.A.B.) called all sneaker heads to the dance floor for their annual Silent Headphone Party powered by SNIPES. This electric party took place on December 7th from 8pm – 11 pm and the winners of the SNIPES Pay It Forward Scholarship were awarded $5,000 respectively during the event. Students were able to show off their favorite kicks on the Orange Carpet, and if they wanted to kick it up a notch they could compete in the Best Kicks Photo Contest for the chance to win a SNIPES gift card.
